What do I get in the full conference fee?

The conference fee entitles you to five nights shared accommodation at Naamaroo, all meals, events, talks, transport to Currambena and Kinma and other activities taking place during our conference in the week 15th - 20th July 2019 .


The daily rate entitles you to come for the daily activities on the day and evening which you choose to attend. It will also cover your meals for that day.

Is there any way I can get sponsorship?

We encourage you to fundraise within your own community. We understand that the conference fee is high, however Sydney is one of the world’s most expensive cities and we have done our best to keep the cost low. You will be receiving accommodation, food, the conference activities and presentations as part of the fee. At this point we are unable to provide sponsorship.

When is the registration deadline for the APDEC 2019?

Participants can purchase full price tickets up until two weeks before the event, by Monday 1st July at the latest. We strongly encourage participants to register as soon as possible to secure their place, and also to conform to rules of the venue. The early bird registration will close on Tuesday 2nd April.

How can I complete a group registration?

Can I cancel my ticket and get a refund?

You can cancel your ticket with a refund up to four weeks prior to the event, 15th June. You will need to let us know in writing and can be refunded the ticket price minus the non-refundable administration fee. After 15th June, unfortunately we cannot refund your ticket. Do I need a Visa to travel to Australia?

AccomModation & Dietary Requirements

What are the accommodation options at the venue?

There are a range of rooms available at our venue Naamaroo. All rooms will be shared, we are unable to provide private accommodation for the conference. The rooms vary in capacity between 3, 4, 8 and 12 people. Please let us know if you are traveling as a group and we will try to keep you together.

What if I would like to share my room with a specific person?

When booking, please indicate who you would like to be accommodated with. Please note that the venue’s policy require that adults and children are not allowed to share the same room, unless you are a family. Children will be separated into different rooms according to their gender, as per the venue’s policy. The safety and wellbeing of children is very important to us and keeping to these rules is a part of that.

What if I organise my own accommodation?

You will need to purchase four day tickets to be able to attend the conference and arrange your own transport to and from the venue. You will need to organise your alternative accommodation.

What if I have dietary requirements?

When booking, please indicate your dietary requirements. In particular, if you have any allergies that will need to be considered in food preparation. There is an extra charge for the vegan option, and other specific options (e.g. coeliac) which will be processed during your booking. If you don’t let us know, it might lead to disappointment.

Event Details

What time does the conference start and end each day?

The program runs from 9.00am - 8.30pm on most days, including meal times. Please note that the program will always be subject to change and we will keep you informed of these changes. The conference programming will start after lunch on Monday 15th and will finish on Friday 19th. There will be breakfast on Saturday 20th and then we will leave at 9.00am.

Will there be any child minding available?

No, there will not be any specific child minding, however children are welcome and encouraged to come! Children’s voice is the theme of our conference and we’d love to have as many children as possible included. There will be a range of activities and talks during the week which children are welcome to attend, however will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Will translation be offered for key speakers?

We are hoping to provide translation for key speakers, as well as provide the program and other materials in different languages. Please do let us know your language needs during registration or by emailing
